Senior Tristin Koerner has been at the Mount for three years of her NCAA career. Koerner plays catcher and has a batting average of .238.

Early in the 2026 season, Koerner was named MAAC Player of the Week. The senior was given this honor as she played a vital role in a doubleheader sweep early in the season. The senior went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, a home run and four RBI in the two games.

With her accolades and success on the Softball field, Koerner recognized her relationships as something truly special.

“The highlight of my three years at the Mount has been the friendships and relationships I have made here. The people and the community are unmatched, and it truly shows in the classrooms and around campus.”

Through her career at Mount, Koerner has improved as a player as well as a student and a person. Through the relationships she has built, she has been able to excel on and off the field.

“The Mount has helped me in many different aspects of my life, both as a person and a player. It has taught me how to battle adversity but also appreciate the little moments.”

The senior has stated that she will take away the importance of resilience and perseverance, as they were two main parts of what she has learned here.

“My experience at the Mount has taught me how to stay committed through challenges, grow from adversity, and value the relationships that support that growth.”

Trishelle Leal Uribe (C’26) has been a key player for the Mount St. Mary’s Bowling Team in her four years here. In her junior season, Leal set the school record for spare conversions in Baker play.

As well as being a key member of the Bowling Team, Leal will graduate as a member of the Honor’s program this spring. The senior presented her Honor’s project at this year’s SPARC festival.

“My time at the Mount has allowed me to grow in and out of the lanes,” Leal said, “I do not think it would have been possible without those around me. The Mount has taught me the value of patience, giving others grace, and fortitude.”

The senior stated that her biggest highlight from her time at the Mount, was the USBC Nationals in Las Vegas in 2025.

“Aside from the amazing bowling result  we had at the moment, we also got to dress up as a team and enjoy our time together in the warm weather,” Leal continued, “This also was the last event my parents and close friends got to see me competitively bowl at, so it kind of adds to the sentiment.”

She expressed that her time at the Mount has been extremely valuable, creating opportunities for her that she may not have gotten elsewhere.

“I have met some of my best friends through the Mount, and I could never be thankful enough for those who I have met here, whether that is through bowling or not” the senior stated.

“If I had the opportunity to go back 4 years, knowing what I know now, I would still choose the Mount.”

Christina Lazari (C’26) is one of the main scorers on the Women’s Swimming and Diving Team. Lazari’s experience at the Mount has been life changing in many ways she is deeply grateful for.

She grew up in Greece where she represented the Junior National Team of Greece from 2019 to 2022, before moving to the United States. While the change from Greece to America wasn’t easy, she feels that she made the right decision.

Of all the experiences Lazari has been through, she says one of the most prestigious is becoming captain of the university’s team. She explains her experience as a leader as requiring “leading by example, motivating people, and encouraging their success.” She states that her role as a representative of the program through her skills and leadership is a privilege.

She is also incredibly grateful to have witnessed and been a part of several notable events during her time at the Mount. One example she gives is being part of the 4x100-yard freestyle relay team alongside Meghan Speicher (C’25), Theodora Kanellopoulou (C’28), and Carmen Del Aguila (C’28).

Her team set a new MAAC record and instantly qualified for nationals.

Lazari has qualified for the CSCAA National Invitational Championship three times in her career at the Mount, including this spring.

“I was proud to be one of the six members who had such an achievement among all the athletes of the program, and also the only woman.”

Lazari comments that looking back, she would have never imagined that she’d end up here from a student athlete in Greece.

“The idea of being able to participate in such competitions, perform at the Division I level, and even study in the United States seemed impossible,” she notes.

No matter where Lazari goes next in her athletic and academic careers, she will always be proud to be a Mountaineer.
