Saxbys Semester SCEO

In the Knott Academic Center (AC) is Saxby’s. This is a student run café that is enjoyable for all students here at the Mount. Saxby’s became a part of the Mount back in fall of 2022. 

It is known for their all-day breakfast food and coffee. They also have other beverages such as matcha and smoothies and food such as grilled cheese and bakery items. 

This semester we got a new Student Chief Executive Officer (SCEO) Kiara Ramirez (C’27), who is excited to put her best foot forward and lead this café and her team into success this spring 2025 school year. 

In the interview Ramirez stated, "I previously worked at Saxby’s as a team member, and the opportunity kept getting brought up." 

Ramirez also answered questions about how she heard about and applied for this job opportunity on campus.

She said, "Along with the past Student CEO and others recommended me for the role and I took it as a sign from God, so I applied and got offered the position!" 

When being asked, how is it like being a SCEO at Saxby’s, Ramirez said "It is a privilege to have such an amazing opportunity to be a Student CEO at the Mount St. Mary's University Saxby’s location.

Ramirez states, "Entering this role has been an incredible experience of leadership, perseverance and learning. It allows me to learn valuable lessons and skills that go far beyond lessons taught in a classroom."
