The Mount community mourns Carol Hinds who served as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. She served the Mount community for 28 years, from 1995 to 2023.
Hinds was the first female to lead this type of academic role. During her time at the Mount, she taught students English and Core classes which introduced them to new forms of literature.
Hinds was not just active within the academic environment on campus, but she attended and showed support to her colleagues and fellow students by attending lectures and student run events. She made sure to attend lectures, concerts, basketball games, and many more campus events.
In 2023 Provost Boyd Creasman created the Carol Hinds Award for Exemplary Services as an opportunity for faculty members. This award is usually given to a member who shows selfless services to the Mount.
We thank Dr. Hinds for her love, commitment and everlasting mark she made on the Mount community.
