February 9, the Mount Track and Field team traveled to Penn State and Liberty. The Mountaineers brought back several shining performances.
On the track, Bah Abdoulaye (C’27) won the 200 meter in a time of 21.65, giving him a boost in the MAAC. Abdoulaye also placed sixth in the 60 meter dash, with a time of 6.90 seconds. The Men’s 4x400 relay placed fourth, with team members, Daniel Reader (C’25), Lucas Koon Perez (C’27), Gunnar Williams (C’28) and Abdoulaye.
Maeve Parrish (C’26) had a 2:15.90 second 800, Reader had a 49.47 400 meter and Will Stephenson (C’25) had a 8.29 60 meter hurdles, placing the three in the top five.
The Mount showed up on the field with Emelie Beckman (C’26) vaulting 3.85 meters, followed by teammate Julia Kirschnick (C’25) with a 3.70 meter vault. Bringing the pair up to second and fourth in the MAAC.
Rebecca Weir is currently third in the MAAC with a high jump of 1.65 meters.
At Liberty, there were many top 10 finishes by our Mountaineers, the most stand-out performances were in the field. Evyn Fitzgerald (C’25), was second in pole vault, with teammates Ella Dougher (C’26) and Jada Creager (C’28) finishing ninth.
The trio of Caleb Nelson (C’28) doing triple jump, Jaidyn Wiseley (C’28) doing high jump and Camryn Jones-Howard (C’28) doing long jump, were also top ten finishers at the meet.
The Mount will return to Liberty for their final regular season meet, on February 14.
