Justine Miller

Blessed is an understatement.

In 2008 I watched the Mount St. Mary’s Men’s Basketball team face University of North Carolina (UNC) in Raleigh, NC. I was 17. Coach Milan Brown brought the team over to give the fans a standing ovation and I watched 300 fans stand and applaud the team. We went to a local pub afterwards and not one person left without a high five, hug, or thank you for coming! I looked at my mom and said, “Mom, I’m going to be a part of that team someday!”

In 2010, I began my managing career as a Men’s Basketball manager when I was a sophomore and never looked back.  In 2012, @jamion_christian was hired. I couldn’t make the press conference, but my mom went and said, “You won’t meet anyone on this campus that has more passion for this program than Justine Miller!”….

2013-2014: my sabbatical year as I was a GA for the school of Business. Went to many Mount games and helped our ops person at the time with food for roadtrips while working 3 jobs and going to school. I traveled to Dayton, OH after they won the NEC Championship to face Albany in the first four.

September 2014- I’m hired as Coordinator of Basketball Operations. @dslind is an Assistant Coach on staff. I get to work with him for 2 of my 3 years in that role.  Year 3 (2016-2017)- I plan a 19 day roadtrip, we start the year 1-11, but we win the NEC Regular season and Championship in Knott Arena and go dancing!!

Mount wins the first four against New Orleans.

Mount plays Villanova in the first round and is down 1 point at half.  Mount falls short but the whole arena erupts in chant “Mount St Mary’s 👏🏼👏🏼-👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼”

Transfer Portal isn’t a thing so Lynne gets permission to contact Head Coach Jamion to recruit me for an admin position…. August 2017 I become Asst Athletic Director for Academics & Student-Athlete Support.

Over the 8 years, I’ve taken on more and more responsibility to become a sport supervisor to 7 coaches (9 programs) and oversee internal operations; Academics, Compliance, Sports Medicine, Sports Nutrition, & Strength and Conditioning.

2024-2025 Mount basketball becomes MAAC Champions and goes dancing.  We beat American University in the First Four and face Duke in the First Round in Raleigh, NC…. Back where it all began 17 years ago! This time, instead of being 17, I’m 34 and the Deputy Athletic Director and SWA.

I LOVE MY JOB! I LOVE THIS TEAM! I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!!

Blessed is an understatement! GO MOUNT!
