Since Michael Driscoll stepped down from the position of Dean of the Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business in November of last year, Stepheca Sawyer has been serving as the Interim Dean while the university was searching for a permanent fit for the position. On April 6, President Timothy Trainor announced that Dr. John Nauright had accepted the position and he will start June 14, which is when Sawyer will serve as Assistant Dean of business school.
Nauright currently serves as Dean of the Stephen Poorman College of Business, Information Systems and Human Services and director of the Clearfield Campus at Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania. At Lock Haven University, Nauright currently directs the following programs: Business Management and Marketing, Finance, Insurance and Risk Management, Accounting, Computer Science, Recreation and Tourism Management, Cultural Heritage Management, Sport Management, Sport Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Criminal Justice and Social Work. At Lock Haven, Nauright used his experience in workforce development and program expansion to provide new opportunities for students at the Clearfield campus.
The committee that was appointed to search for the right fit for Dean of the Bolte Business School was led by Kraig Sheetz, the Executive Vice President of the Mount. Trainor added that the search committee consisted of Sandra Baumgartner, Corinne Farneti, Carol Hinds, Elizabeth Monahan, Ray Speciale, Solomon Tesfu, Tim Wolfe and Christina Yoder. The committee reviewed many qualified candidates who applied for the position.
Nauright claims to have a wealth of experience in both traditional and adult education that will help all students in the Mount community flourish in their business-related studies. His years of leadership on multi-campus universities will also be critical to the Mount as the university offers classes at both the Emmitsburg and Frederick campuses.
The incoming Dean has also successfully created multiple external partnerships outside of Lock Haven University. One of his partnerships is with the Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club of the Premier League in England. He is also involved in Preservation Pennsylvania which is targeted to assist Pennsylvania communities protect and utilize the historic resources they want to preserve for the future. The organization helps by creating educational and advocacy programs, advisory assistance and special projects.
In addition, Nauright has become involved with Higher Digital LLC., which is a digital transformation management company that provides consulting, software, and data benchmarking tools that significantly reduce the time and cost for higher education executives to assess, plan and measure their technology strategy. His involvement in these organizations goes to show his leadership qualities and his will to help others excel in life.
