Homecoming is a major tradition in the United States, particularly in high schools and colleges, where it's considered a large-scale celebration of school spirit. Whether the school is known for its athletic prowess, the homecoming games are typically full house, with everyone eager to support the team and showcase their school spirit.

This occasion is meaningful for seniors, as it represents one of their final major events before graduation. For many students and alums, homecoming is an opportunity to reconnect and express their pride in their school. It embodies the idea of "coming home" to a familiar place filled with cherished memories.

The Mount Homecoming basketball game is a fantastic event that brings our community together. Many students enjoy reuniting with their alumni and experiencing the energetic atmosphere.

In an interview, Abby Dacombe (C' 26) shared her thoughts: "I chose to come to the game tonight because a few of my alumni friends were coming back, and I was super excited to see everyone! I loved the atmosphere of the game tonight! It was a full house, and everyone was so hyped to watch! I also enjoyed spending time with my friends and having fun outside of classes!"

The Mount community cheered together, especially when the team scored. Ashley Tayler (C' 26) shared her experience: "I chose to come to the game tonight to spend time with friends and support our team. I also enjoyed the support of the Water Polo team at the concession stand! My favorite part of the game was hearing the crowd roar when the players made 3-point shots, along with spending time with friends!"

During half-time, there was a chance to win $1,000 for whoever participated and made a shot from half-court. The participant had 2 chances to make the shot; unfortunately, he did not make it, but it was entertaining. As part of half-time, they brought a small group of elementary students to play as teams and everyone in the audience went wild seeing the little ones scoring.

You can feel everyone's excitement when the Mount scored, making it very contagious. Seeing how children at such a young age are cheering for the Mount and getting thrilled to see our mascot, Emmit. Although we might not see eye to eye, our community knows how to come together for games and events.

This was an intense game with the Manhattan Jaspers. Many of the Mount players felt the heat but were able to brush it off! Our Cheer, Dance team and Pep Band brought as much energy as the rest of the audience. Despite losing by ten points, our team scored as much as possible and our community cheered as loud as they could.
